GEORGE APPLETON MEMORIAL - Sunday, August 8th

On behalf of the late George Appleton and the rest of the Appleton family we are very happy to announce the running of the 6^th annual Appleton Memorial, on Sunday August 8^th. Fred Appleton and the Promotions Group has joined forces with the well known local Ford dealership “Rod Baker Ford” of Plainfield, IL and its owner Rick Baker for a multi year agreement to sponsor the annual memorial. TERRY'S AUTOMOTIVE TWIN 100'S - UPDATE

On Friday June 18th - Butch Miller and Kevin Cywinski will participate in a "Grudge

Match" Race. This event will take place before the Friday Night Feature Events. Three

5 lap shotouts and the "Winner" will be 2 out of 3. They will also run in the "Twin 100's "

on June 19th. "I have spoke with Butch and Kevin this week and they are very excited

to be back at Grundy." said Steve Einhaus. ASA regulars Brett Sontag and Todd Kluever

will be participating in both events. And Robbie Pyle will pilot a Howe House Car in the

ASA Late Model 100. Legendary Al Schill Sr, and Wisconsin hot shoe- Ryan Mathews

will be participating in the Chicagoland 100.

OLD RACING PHOTOS ... The years were late 70's and early 80"s at Raceway Park,

Illiana Speedway, Rockford Speedway and the ARTGO Series. From local drivers, such

as Larry Schuler to the famous Rusty Wallace.

RACERS REUNION AND SPEEDWAY DISPLAY.... "Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony"

On Friday night, July 2, 2004 at 6:00PM, in conjunction with the Grundy County Fair

100th Anniversary, there will be a Racers Reunion & Speedway Display. This event

will honor race drivers, crew members, officials and fans who have been part of

"Racing History" at the Mazon Speed Bowl and Grundy County Speedway.

If you know a driver that does not have computer access, please copy the form for them

and have them mail it to the address stated. Opening Day is just around the corner.

Please make sure car # is on roof. Please check with Frank Welch for car # availability.

We want to try and prevent double numbers, to make it easier for the scorers.

GRUNDY COUNTY SPEEDWAY WELCOMES...

We are pleased to welcome back for the second season at Grundy County Speedway

the Burris Junior Pro Series (running Karts, Bandoleros, Legends and new to the 2004

season Allison Legacy Cars). The Great Lakes Allison Legacy Series will be running a

limited number of events throughout Burris Junior Pro Series' 2004 schedule. Join them

in the pits, walk around, view the cars, talk to the drivers (ranging in ages from 5-65)

Chicagoland Race Car Driver Rob Czerwinski, Late Model # 6, opened a Racing Theme Pizzeria Restaurant in Palos Hills. The restaurant is located at 8052 W 111^th Street.

ASA AT GRUNDY COUNTY SPEEDWAY ON JUNE 19, 2004: (read story here)

The American Speed Association and Grundy County Speedway have announced the ASA Late Model Series and the Chicagoland Late Models will both hold 100 lap events in 2004 at the Illinois racetrack. The Twin 100 lap features will take place on Saturday, June 19 at the .333-mile oval located in Morris, approximately 60 miles Southwest from Chicago. "The Twin 100's have the potential to be one of the biggest Late Model events in the Midwest," said Steve Einhaus, promoter of Twin 100's at Grundy County Speedway.
